Fe Mercader, Principal

Fe is a senior lawyer and the Principal of Mercader Lawyers. She was admitted to practice law in 1995 and was the first female Filipino lawyer to be admitted in Victoria. Fe was also admitted to practice law in Queensland and New South Wales.

Fe is extremely passionate about social justice and making a difference and has volunteered for over 5 years with the Eastern Community Legal Centre. Fe regularly deals with family law and commercial disputes and represents clients in various courts: the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Federal Court of Australia, the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia and the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria as well as Tribunals.

Apart from practicing law for over 25 years, Fe holds a Bachelor of Philosophy and has a real interest in humanities. Prior to her career in law Fe worked as a fully qualified nurse at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and at The Royal Women’s Hospital. She has an in-depth understanding of medical terms and patient needs.
